LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Farm posted a Facebook status saying the company is looking for a farm hand, but the status said “I don’t believe women can do the job.”

It went on to say “you’ll be digging picking and shoveling, carrying 50 pounds.”

Later, it said work history, age, marriage status, if someone owns their own transportation and smoking habits would be considered when looking at applicants.

That post was deleted and another one was posted that said, “We will be taking our page down as someone has been able to post as if it was coming from us.” Shortly after that, the whole page was deleted.

While many comments criticized the sexism and discrimination, farmer Sharon Linsenbardt said the original post was not her and it was someone who was trying to make her look bad.

“We are staffed by women, we have no prejudice against women or age of women, we’re not looking to hire anybody right now and we’re just terribly disappointed that somebody chose to do this,” said Linsenbardt.

She said she believes she knows who posted the status, but would not say who she thinks did it.
