LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Students at Mountain View Elementary School are on a scavenger hunt, but it's not your average game.

This scavenger hunt involves books and it all meant to encourage reading and improve Nevada's poor literacy rate .

Teachers say the idea came from social media.

The books are hidden in parks, at school bus stops and throughout the east side of Las Vegas.

Every book found is in a plastic bag and comes with a note that reads, "Congratulations you found a book!"
