An injured veteran gets a life changing gift

Cody Katcher served four years, including time in Afghanistan. Since he got back, he and his family have bounced from home to home. This month that stopped.

The home was donated mortgage-free by the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals and Bank of America. They moved in a few weeks ago.

"I didn't think it was real. I didn't think things like this happened to regular people," said Katcher.

Katcher has post-traumatic stress disorder. His wife and his daughter have watched him struggle with night terrors. Things are starting to change, though.

"I see stability. I see happiness. I see huge stresses lifted off of our shoulders," said Katcher.

The kids are still exploring and making this place their own; mom and dad can worry about making memories rather than making payments.
