A family is finding the strength to move forward after its mother died of childbirth complications.
Shanika Delouth, 39, died one month after giving birth to her fourth child, according to her oldest daughter Mariah Copeland.
"She was really weak, she was delirious," Copeland said.
Copeland said her mother suffered from complications related to her Caesarean section. She leaves behind the new baby, Copeland, and two other children ages 11 and 6.
"She was just a loving soul," Copeland said.
Through their heartache, the family is finding the strength to move forward in the eyes of the new addition, baby E.J.
"We honestly believe he's a miracle. He's a miracle baby," Copeland said.
Copeland said she's grateful her mother had the opportunity to spend E.J.'s first few weeks with him.
"She loved this little guy, so I'm glad she got to kiss him and tell him that she loved him."
