Local real estate agents say that the median price for a single-family home jumped to $238,000 in January.
That is up 1.3 percent from December. It is rare to see an increase in January.
Prices are currently about 9 percent higher now than they were at the same time last year.
Real estate agents also say that the number of homes for sale is shrinking. There are only about 5 to 6 thousand homes on the market currently. That is almost down 25 percent from last year.
Local experts say this is a sign that the local economy is improving.
