LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas family is thankful this holiday season for the community's generosity after a life-changing gift.

Jason Johnson has been raising his six kids, ages 22 months to 9 years, by himself since his wife left the family in January.

Johnson relies on his oldest son, Jaedyn, 9, to keep the household going.

"As far as changing diapers, he's making bottles, so I have enough time to do everything else around the house," said Johnson through tears.

Johnson said his family suffered a bed bug infestation which forced them to throw out all of their furniture.

"If I didn't have my parents, oh this guy right here, I don't know where I would be," said Johnson.

This holiday season is a little bit brighter thanks to the 25th annual Walker Furniture Home for the Holidays.

The program provides items for deserving families.

"It's so much more about furniture," said Larry Alterwitz with Walker Furniture.

"It's about giving back and caring for the community and helping in anyway that you can to try and make the community better and individual lives better," added Alterwitz.

Walker delivered new tables, chairs, beds plus a Christmas tree and a lot of presents.

"This is amazing, more than anyone could ever ask for, especially for my kids," said Johnson.
