Inmate serving 12 years to life dies at High Desert State Prison

Inmate Kevin Gray died at the High Desert State Prison on Jan. 15 around 9:40 a.m., according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

The 54-year-old male has been behind bars since May 1, 2009, and was serving a sentence of 12 years to life for domestic violence and battery with intent to commit sexual assault. He was also concurrently serving 8-20 years for forgery.

The Clark County Coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Gray's next of kin have been notified.
