An inmate from Clark County died earlier this week at a Nevada prison.
The Nevada Department of Corrections reports that on Tuesday around 6 a.m., 84-year-old Homer Burton died at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in the Regional Medical Center in Carson City.
Burton was committed from Clark County on Aug. 17, 1995 and was serving 5 years to life with the possibility of parole for sexual assault.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office coroner responded and an autopsy is being scheduled.
