Inmate Anthony Daniels died at the Northern Nevada Corrections Center's Medical Facility on Dec. 19, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
The 53-year-old man was serving 24 to 72 months for coercion.
The Carson Sheriff's Office coroner responded and an autopsy is being scheduled. His relatives have been notified.
