If you've ever gotten lost in Mcarran International Airport, this is a story for you.

Three holograms are placed near the D gates. They tell people whether they should go to terminal one baggage claim or terminal three baggage claim. Airport officials say this can be a confusing spot.

They've been in place for a few months.

Some people are freaked out by them.

"Everything you've ever seen in every sci-fi movie when you're growing up, and I'm almost 50 years old, so to see that actually come to fruition is just absolutely crazy," said Nicole smith, a flier at McCarran.

These were not cheap. These three holograms were about $36,000. That price includes installation for all three units and one year of maintenance.

"If we can catch one person and get them in the right direction we have a high likelihood of getting everyone to the right place," said Christine Crews, a spokeswoman for the airport.

Since they were installed they've changed spots a bit to make sure light isn't too bright on them. Their scripts have also gotten shorter, getting right to the point.
