The Henderson Police Department, in conjunction with officers throughout the Las Vegas valley, will be conducting special traffic enforcement targeting speeders over the next two weeks starting Feb. 19.
The officers will be able to target several different streets at a time using saturation patrols throughout Henderson to stop speeding vehicles.
Officers will target areas that are known for high speeds and the areas that have received the most citizen complaints.
Speeding was the cause of about 28 percent of all fatal accidents in the United States, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
In 2014, there were 9,262 people who died in speeding related crashes.
This is the sixth Joining Forces event for the Henderson Police under the current grant.
