LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Social media is starting to play a role in how crimes are committed, and it's beginning to change how officers investigate, according to authorities.

This week, Henderson police are hosting a conference for public information officers to discuss how their departments are adapting to evolving technology and how they can improve their interactions on social media.

"As we move forward and we see how social media and media period has influenced how we police - with the addition of body cams and all of the different things we now do in an effort to be transparent, we have to work on telling our story a little bit better," Henderson Police Lt. Kirk Moore said.
