A Henderson family is hoping someone will speak up as they search for a child in a duck costume who attacked their son.

"He grabbed me by the throat and started punching me," Mikey Ruffolo said.

Mikey had a bruised nose and a concussion after he says an older boy beat him up when he asked a group to stop cussing around the younger kids trick or treating in the Madeira Canyon neighborhood.

That's when he says the boy in the duck mask attacked.

Mikey's mother, Stephanie, says she thought he was safe trick or treating in the gated community with his older sister, but was shocked by what she saw on surveillance video from a nearby house.

"To see other kids standing around doing nothing shows we are not teaching our kids to be honorable," Ruffolo said.

The Ruffolos say the attack happened just off camera, but Mikey's mom says she was shocked those standing nearby didn't jump in.

"On the footage you see a golf cart and adult just walking away," Ruffolo said.

Henderson police were called, but couldn't find the attacker.

The Ruffolos found a neighbor with video of the person in the duck mask trick or treating just minutes before Mikey was attacked and are hopeful someone will come forward.

While they wait for tips, Mikey is swimming in candy, as friends and neighbors have been dropping it off by the bag and bucket full.

He is planning to donate the candy to a local nonprofit and send some to military members.
