LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Halloween is a time many kids look forward to, but it is also a dangerous time to be a pedestrian here in the valley.

Authorities say this year there have been 52 traffic fatalities in Las Vegas, which is two more than last year.

Police were out along Boulder Highway to make sure drivers were paying attention yesterday.

They stopped drivers who did not stop for "Action Elvis" at the crosswalk when flashing lights were activated.

This operation resulted in 44 citations and 35 stops.
