Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has teamed up with the city of Las Vegas to give free pizza to homeowners who agree to smoke alarm tests or allow the fire department to install smoke alarms.
Several council members will be helping deliver the pizza. Lois Tarkanian made the rounds on Monday night. Bob Coffin will be delivering pizza in Ward 3 tonight and Cedric Crear will be knocking on doors Thursday.
The pizza is supplied by Pizza Hut. The event is part of the activities for Fire Prevention Week.
It's #FirePreventionWeek: when a smoke alarm sounds, you have 1-2 minutes to escape. Always take that time seriously and know where two safe exits are. pic.twitter.com/QVCJtxvPs1

Our @lasvegasfd team has been out in the community for #FirePreventionWeek. 35,000 homes across the valley are estimated not to have smoke alarms; it's their mission to reduce that number and these community events are a big part of that. pic.twitter.com/IEaDXoOgoE
