A foreign exchange program is in need of families to host students in Clark County.

Jenny Sin is a foreign exchange student from Korea. Last semester, she stayed with a host family as she became familiar with American high school and culture.

"We don't have prom, but here we have prom so that's different," Sin said.

Sin was paired with a host family through Education First High School Exchange Year.

However, this year, Education First needs more families willing to host students for the full ten month experience. The students are expected to arrive in Las Vegas within the next month.

"They think, 'Well, 10 months... that's a long time,'" said Theresa Yanni, a supervisor for Education First.

Yanni has hosted several students herself and said after a while the students become like family.

"There's a lot of tears the last two weeks, I can tell you that!" Yanni said.

Those interested in becoming host families can email theresa.yanni@efexchangeyear.org or don.mcgrath@efexchangeyear.org.
