People in an apartment complex near Desert Inn and Fort Apache are desperate for help. They say flies are taking over after a man died alone and his body was untouched for weeks.

"We have been having a bad experience with flies for the past like week," said neighbor Briana Boyd. "We be killing flies every day."

Boyd lives upstairs and a couple units over from the place where the body was left. She is now feeling the effects of the flies in her place too.

"I was just wondering like why the flies all of a sudden."

Neighbors called 13 Action News because they didn't understand why the man's place hadn't been cleaned out yet.

We learned the man has no next of kin in the United States and he owns his unit, making it private property. The body was removed but the county locked the unit up until next of kin can arrive from Ecuador. Until then, the flies will probably not go anywhere.
