A real estate agent is fighting for his life after his family says he was stabbed in the neck while showing a house last Friday.

Ryan Vega had just gone back into the house near Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive after showing it to some prospective buyers. Three minutes later, the family says the 39-year-old ran up to the buyer's agent holding his neck after being stabbed.

He has since been hospitalized and unable to talk.

"He's a strong guy. He goes to the gym, he runs and he kickboxes," said his mother, who did not want to be identified. "He should be able to make it with God's help."

Police said the suspect lives at the home but has not been arrested.

Vega's family says they hope people realize the dangers real estate agents can face.
