A local family tells 13 Action News they have killed more than 100 scorpions in the past 3 months.

This is at their home near Pecos Ridge and Eastern Avenue in Henderson.

"They've sprayed it one time," said Charles Haycox.

The family of eight moved into the property approximately six months ago. They say they started noticing the scorpions about three months ago.  Since then, the problem has only gotten worse.

"You see how big that thing is?" said Haycox.

In one incident, the family says a scorpion fell into the tub from above while of the kids was taking a bath.

"I was literally shaking because I was so scared," said Alexis Haycox.

Sansone Property Management tells 13 Action News the problem is with the neighboring homes. They say they have had pest control spray the home more than once.

According to the family, Sansone Properties refused to seal the home from scorpions because of the cost.  The Haycox family is tired of worrying about getting stung.

"Oh absolutely painful," said Charles Haycox, "it just shocks your whole entire hand."

The family wants to break the lease and get their deposit back before someone else is hurt.

The property manager does have to take steps to fix an infestation. 13 Action News reached out to them again late Wednesday night to get clarification on the spraying, sealing, and terms of the lease.
