Henderson resident Christina Venditte says it was an exciting weekend at Life Is Beautiful for her and her friends until she was ready to go home.
Venditte says her parents allowed her to use Lyft for festival transportation because they thought it would be a safe and affordable option.
They also knew there might be some upcharges involved with the ride-sharing company because it was festival weekend.
However, they never expected what the result would be.
For the larger Lyft vehicle to hold 6 people, it was $60 from Henderson to downtown Las Vegas heading to the festival, but at the end of the night, it was more than $200, according to Venditte.
She says her group felt stranded downtown with no way home but ended up going with Lyft because they had no other choice.
Nick, Venditte's father, says he's "outraged." If they announced prices ahead of time, he might have ordered a limo for Venditte and her friends or found a different transportation option for them.
Lyft was also an official sponsor of the event but the Vendittes complained to Life to Beautiful, who responded on Facebook saying they were "Sorry to hear this. Although they are a sponsor, we, unfortunately, don't have control over how transportation service run."
