A false active shooter alert was sent out at Henderson City Hall on Wednesday, sending people and running and screaming from the building.

Workers got the scare around 1:30 p.m. after a disturbance in the lobby of City Hall.

The alert read "RED ALERT! RUN HIDE FIGHT," indicating there was a problem in the building. That sent some returning from lunch into a panic.

Henderson police say that a disgruntled customer at a service counter caused the panic. An employee hit the alarm, which triggered an active shooter alert.

Police showed up and had the man in question under control within a few minutes.

This is the second false alarm to send people into a panic after a Hawaii missile alert on Saturday turned out to be a mistake.

The disgruntled man that caused today's problem in Henderson has been thrown out of City Hall and told he cannot return.
