LEE CANYON (KTNV) — That's a wrap! The winter season is over at Lee Canyon Ski Resort and it ended with near-perfect weather on Sunday.

For some skiers and snowboarders, the day was somewhat bittersweet.

"I’m really quite sad but we are going out on a good note. We've had some phenomenal powder days up here."

The entire day the the lift chairs were full, people were dressed up in funny costumes while they made the best out of their last ride down the slopes.

Lee Canyon officials told 13 Action News the season ended on a "historic" note.

"More than a 40% increase of people come up here and enjoyed winter recreation,” said Jim Silley, marketing director.

Silley said the resort received 53 inches more of snow compared to the previous season, that allowed them to stay open longer.

"We extended the date to April 7th and here we are [it’s] April 14th. Everyone, just came out to reminisce on the good season and enjoy the last day of it," said Sill

Hundreds of locals took advantage of one final run down the slopes, some capturing it on a GoPro.

“This is awesome to see a great winter like this."

On the heels of a successful winter season, Lee Canyon officials said “major projects” will be announces during summer.
