Downtown Las Vegas apartment fire displaces six

No injuries were reported after a fire in downtown Las Vegas Friday morning.

Las Vegas firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 2001 Stewart Ave., near Eastern Avenue at 11:46 a.m. Friday after fire dispatchers received several 911 calls about the fire.  

When firefighters arrived, flames and smoke were showing from a second floor apartment of a two-story wood frame apartment building. Firefighters entered the apartment and doused the blaze in less than five minutes.
 
The fire was confined to the one apartment. Damage was estimated at $30,000.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
 
Three adults and three children are displaced due to the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting.
 
Firefighters from Clark County Fire Department also assisted at the fire.
