A valley woman is devastated after her apartment is burglarized near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue.

The place was ransacked and cleaned out Wednesday night, but the one thing she's missing the most now is her dog.

Diane Givens' Chihuahua is named Batman, but the superhero persona isn't enough to put her mind at ease.

"I've had that dog since he was a baby," she said. "I just want him to be returned safely. I don't care about anything else that was taken as long as I get him."

Batman was training as a service dog to help with Givens' asthma.

Crime data shows six burglaries and robberies have been reported at Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue during the month of September.

Givens and her husband say they don't feel safe in their home anymore.

If they don't get the dog back, the couple hopes to get a new dog but they don't expect it to be easy to find one as in tune with their needs as Batman was.
