A sign saying “dead dogs don’t poop” is causing a big stink in a Las Vegas apartment complex.
"It was just immediately oh my gosh," Tori Clements said. "We don't know what these people are going to do."
Clements noticed the sign, which features an illustration of a dog skeleton beside a tombstone labeled “your dog," while checking the mail at the complex near Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road.
It appears the sign, which did not include an author’s name, apparently posted by someone upset about people not cleaning up after their four-legged friends.
Some people said they thought the sign was meant as a joke, but missed the mark.
Clements said she can't tell if the person was threatening to kill dogs, but they are going to be more alert when walking their pets.
"We don't see why that was necessary. Why not just address it with them [the management], because it is threatening," Clements said.
Those in the complex said people are pretty good about picking up after their dogs, but admit their are times they see poop lying around.
An employee in the office said they were aware of the sign, and are working with the corporate office to send a message to residents that signs like the one posted aren't appropriate.
