The presents are unwrapped, the gift cards have been activated, and the bargains are big. Malls were packed the day after Christmas as the holiday shopping cheer continues.

"We're going to spend as much money as we can right now," said one Downtown Summerlin shopper.

A recent study by American Express predicts the day after Christmas could out-sell Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year.

"Banana Republic has 60 percent off all sale items right now," said another shopper.

The day after Christmas is one of the biggest days of the year for retail returns and exchanges. Many shoppers return gifts they don’t quite like and spend the money and gift cards they get on special bargains.

"Maybe off camera we'll talk about things I have to return, but as far as she knows everything was right on," joked one shopper.

American Express also predicts the average shopper will $186 Saturday.
