Vegas PD: Woman facing charges for stabbing man in wheelchair

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A woman is facing charges from a stabbing incident that occurred in July near a convenience store behind the STRAT hotel-casino.

Officers report Angela Carter, 53, stabbed a man who was in a wheelchair with a knife to his neck on July 20.

Attempted murder and battery with use of a deadly weapon are the charges Carter is facing, according to the Clark County Detention Center.

The incident took place in the 200 block of West Boston Avenue, west of Las Vegas Boulevard, as a man was found slumped on the ground with stab wounds to the neck.

When Carter was asked who committed the stabbing, she told police "I'll admit I did," according to an arrest report by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Authorities described the stabbing as unprovoked.

The man in the wheelchair was transported to the University Medical Center and survived the attack, according to police.

Carter is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 20.
