On Wednesday, a Reno man was sentenced to three years in prison and three years of supervised release for making a threat against former President Barack Obama.

Steven Eugene Ford, also known as Job Ford and Eleazar Melchizedek, called the White House around March 1, 2016. The 51-year-old told a White House telephone operator that "I'm going to kill that president. I hate him." Ford admitted to making the threat in a later interview with law enforcement.

"The U.S. Attorney’s Office takes all threats against the President of the United States seriously, and we will work with our law enforcement partners to bring those who make such threats to justice,” said U.S. Attorney Bogden.
