UPDATE: Relatives said Yakira Felder, 17, is recovering after being shot twice by her boyfriend.

"I'm blessed," said mom Kim Williams.

It happened as the teen was coming home from work.  Neighbors heard a fight before two gunshots, according to Williams.

The teen rushed to her door for help.

"When I got up a little closer, I noticed her hands were full of blood," said Williams.

Police said they are investigating the domestic incident. No one has been arrested.

Williams said the shooter told her the gun went off accidentally but she doesn't believe it.

"If it was an accident, how come it's two shots," said Williams, "...It's two bullets, not one."
