LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — From July 15-19 the U.S. Marshals District of Nevada’s Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team (SOPAT) coordinated with Las Vegas police and the Nevada Department of Parole and Probation to conduct Operation Dry Heat.

As a result of the coordinated efforts, 300 verifications were conducted with 280 sex offenders compliant, and 20 were found to be non-compliant.

The 20 non-compliant sex offenders will be further investigated to determine if they are in violation of federal or state sex offender registration laws.

Participating officers were given the case files on over 300 known sex-offenders in the Las Vegas valley.

Home address checks were conducted to ensure the offenders were at the provided address on file and compliant with State and Federal laws regulating the registered sex-offenders.
