LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On July 28, Las Vegas police arrested Darrett Christian after they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

He has been charged with sexual assault, kidnapping (1st degree), battery to commit sex assault, assault, and child abuse or neglect.

According to his arrest report, Christian arrived at the victim's apartment, pounding on the door and asking to see his child.

The victim said that he could kiss the child but could not come inside. At that time, Christian reportedly pushed his way in and picked up the woman, who says she is very ill and frail because of sickle cell disease.

Christian reportedly took her into the master bedroom and placed her on the bed. He then pulled out a 12-inch knife and laid it on the floor and began kissing her. When she tried to resist by kicking a wall to alert someone, he allegedly strangled her until she passed out.

When she woke up, Christian reportedly said "I killed you in the name of God and you have been reborn. You are a goddess and I am a god of the house."

The woman then attempted to distract Christian by asking him to help with their child. Christian helped the woman to the kitchen where she noticed the child needed a diaper. She returned to the bedroom and grabbed the knife. Christian followed and the two struggled over the knife until Christian was able to take it from her. He then used blood from a cut on his hand sustained during the struggle to draw a cross on the woman's forehead.

Christian then sexually assaulted the woman again, according to her statement.

Police transported Christian to headquarters. They observed several injuries, including scratches and a large cut. Christian reportedly admitted to putting the victim in a "bear hug" until she passed out and then performing CPR until she was revived. He also admitted to having a "tussle" with the woman.

Christian was placed under arrest based on evidence and statements. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
