An Elko County man has been arrested on charges of guardianship abuse.
Police say 53-year-old Wade Fordin is facing charges of theft and exploitation of an older person.
He was appointed the permanent guardian of his 80-year-old mother and her estate when she could no longer care for herself. But investigators say instead of spending the money on her care, Fordin spent more than $6,000 on himself.
