Two people were shot overnight near Maryland Parkway and East Flamingo Road.

Police say that a dispute began in the parking lot for Liquor Locker between two men and a 22-year-old clerk of the liquor store.

The men separated and the clerk went back into the store. The other two men returned with a gun and started firing into the store. The clerk retrieved a gun and fired back.

The clerk was grazed by a bullet near his knee and refused medical treatment.

One of the other men was shot near the wrist and was transported to a local hospital, but has since been released. The other man fled the area and was seen running towards UNLV. However, he was later arrested.

Police found 10 to 15 shell casings in the parking lot and store. The business itself was hit by bullets 5 or 6 times.

13 Action News later spoke to the liquor store owner who admitted there had been a fight, but denied that there was a shooting.

The shooting was reported at 1:54 a.m. Thursday.

The shooting is currently under investigation. No other information is available at this time.
