Some hospitals here in the Las Vegas valley are overwhelmed after an influx of COVID-19 patients.

But just because they're busy doesn't mean you push off a visit.

Andra Blomklans, chair of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University, says Urgent Care can be a great option to avoid emergency rooms.

A good rule of thumb, if you can see yourself going home after your visit, then it's better to go to an Urgent Care.

But you should go to an emergency room if you have shortness of breath, chest pains or if you feel like you're having a stroke.
