NATIONAL (KTNV) — The CDC cautions travel within the US, but as the economy reopens, some people are looking for ways to travel while avoiding the virus.

When it comes to flying, studies show pathogens can be transmitted within 6 feet.

On a plane - that means - bugs can travel from two rows ahead of or behind you.

So driving is a safer option.

Infectious disease specialists also say to pay attention to where you're staying and do your research on hotels and flights.

Only book with airlines and accommodations that enforce social distancing and require masks if flying.

If driving, pack food and snacks to limit the need for restaurant stops.
