Gaughan admitted the diagnosis during an interview during “On Track” on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Gaughan says he tested positive last Friday and his symptoms have been mild.

He says that everyone at the “office” has been tested and that he is currently spending a lot of time at home watching television. He also said that he is keeping his distance from his wife and kids during the self-quarantine.

Gaughan is scheduled to race next on Aug. 29 at Daytona. After that race, he was planning to return.

Jimmie Johnson was the first NASCAR race driver to test positive. He had to sit out a race on July 5 because of the diagnosis. He has since been cleared to return to the track.

Gaughan is the son of South Point owner Michael Gaughan.
