LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Data shows alcohol sales have increased during the pandemic. But excessive alcohol use has health risks like liver disease and heart problems.

So, how do you know if you're drinking too much?

"What we usually ask our patients is at any time in the year have you ever had four drinks, or more, in a day for women; or five drinks or more for men? That, for us, is considered high-risk drinking," said Dr. Akhil Anand, with the Cleveland Clinic.

Psychiatrists say you should be concerned with your drinking habits if you are drinking more than you intend to or if you struggle to cutback.

If you're concerned about your drinking or worried about a loved one's drinking habits, reach out to a medical professional.
