Clouds, rain in forecast for Las Vegas eclipse

It could be bad news for those of you who are excited about the partial solar eclipse here in Las Vegas on Monday. It looks like it might be a bit cloudy and it could rain.

The chance of precipitation on Monday right now is about 40 percent.

It should be partly cloudy right around 9 a.m. when the eclipse begins.The eclipse will be at its peak at 10:27 a.m. The rain is predicted to begin around 11 a.m.

But, we still should be able to see some of the eclipse and if you have lived in Las Vegas for a while, you know that the weather here changes often and is often unpredictable.

The good news is that it will be a bit cooler. The high temperature for Monday is expected to be around 96 degrees. The normal high is 101 degrees.

It will be a couple degrees warmer on Tuesday and the chances for rain drop to about 13 percent.
