The Clark County Fire Department is bringing back its Technical Rescue Squad in June.
Type of calls that the specialized unit will respond to include swift-water rescues. These happen often during the annual monsoons in the Las Vegas desert.
Another type of call would be a high-angle rescue. For example, a window washer who becomes stuck several hundred feet in the air. Or, a construction worker who may be stuck on a piece of equipment.
In fact, one of the major reasons for the return of the unit is because of all the new construction in the Las Vegas valley.
