Child in hospital due to apartment fire on Sahara, near Paradise

At 12:43 a.m. on June 29 the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to a report of a fire at 511 East Sahara Avenue. 

Upon arrival,  personnel reported a large amount of smoke and flame showing from a second-story apartment.

Crews made an offensive attack and knocked the fire down in approximately 10 minutes. Firefighters prevented extension of the fire to neighboring apartments and kept the fire confined to just unit 204.

The fire has caused a family of six to be displaced, as well as a special needs child was transported for observation. The apartment below the fire was affected by water damage and the family has been displaced.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist with the three adults and three children displaced as a result of the fire. Damages have been estimated at $75,000.

The fire is under investigation.
