ORIGINAL STORY

A crash in North Las Vegas may be the result of "car surfing."

It happened in the 4400 block of Ferrell, which is near Allen Lane and West Craig Road. Police are asking people to avoid the area.

Car surfing involves a person riding on the outside of a moving vehicle being driven by another person. It has resulted in numerous deaths.

A 16-year-old girl died in August 2015 after she fell off of a car while car surfing outside Durango High School.
