A car drove through a gate and into an apartment on the east side of the valley Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. in the 4800 block of East Sahara Avenue, near Nellis Boulevard.

Police said the driver was transported to Sunrise Hospital but the injuries are non-life threatening.

According to Las Vegas police, the driver said she was cut off before losing control and barreling into the apartment.

"I'm in complete shock, I didn't expect to see a car into someone's apartment," described Daniel McGuire, a neighbor who heard the crash.

Luckily, the renter left the home minutes before the crash happened.

"I actually was asleep and I was suppose to go have lunch. So, I left to go have lunch and I came back to this," said Ikeya Blunt, who lives in the destroyed apartment.

Blunt, the mother of five kids, now has to look for a new place to live after building inspectors deemed her apartment, along with her neighbors, unlivable.

"It's bittersweet. Nobody is hurt so I can't be angry, but it's going to be a hell of a moving process to pick up and just go," Blunt said.

Police said the driver was not under the influence at the time, but are still investigating the incident.

Car now being towed away...Again driver only minor injuries no one was home at the time. Luckily-- most things stayed in place after car was pulled out. KTNV Channel 13 Action News
