Walker Furniture has been in business in Las Vegas for decades. They've gotten a lot of publicity over the years courtesy of their prime location right next to Interstate 15 on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

But now with "Car-nado" ramp closures impacting MLK, it's been harder for customers to reach them.

"I got lost," says customer Sandra Akers, who was shopping for furniture.

She had to find an alternate route after her GPS told with to get off on MLK, which is now closed.

CEO Larry Alterwitz says he's staying optimistic. He says Nevadans are already familiar with Walker Furniture and won't mind an extra 5 to 10 minute commute to reach his business.

Alterwitz says the construction did take away some his on-site buildings, some of which the state paid for. His distribution operations are now all done through their warehouse on Cheyenne Avenue.

He says he taking Car-nado in stride, and may even use it to attract more business to his store.

"Drive an extra 5 to 10 minutes, and save hundreds," he says.
