A local homeowners association is reconsidering its safety measures after a series of burglaries.
Around 3 a.m. on Monday, burglars broke into a gated community near Elkhorn Road and Torrey Pines Drive.
"They just went down the street. Every car that was there they checked, every door that was there they checked," said Norm Demattos whose iPad was stolen from a car.
Neighbors estimate around six homes were targeted. The thieves took garden tools, electronics and even an ATV.
"We're going to look at how to make the entrance and exit gates more vandal proof so you can't get in," said Bill Sandeen, the president of the HOA which oversees the subdivision.
Residents filed police reports, but no arrests have been made.
