Nearly 24 hours later, power is restored to all 1,800 customers in the area of Charleston and Rainbow. The power originally went out after a truck smashed into a power pole causing a huge fire.

Bonanza High School and New Horizons Academy were two of the customers affected.

New Horizons Academy canceled classes today due to the outage.

Bonanza High School still held class but students told 13 Action News, there were only 100 students left by 12:30 p.m.

"All the people I was hanging out with, they were like I want to just leave already, it's so boring," said one Bonanza freshman.

NV Energy said the power was supposed to be restored Tuesday night, then 8 a.m. Wednesday, then 10 a.m., then noon. The power was restored to all customers by 1:23 p.m. Wednesday.

NV Energy apologized for the delay and said the repairs were more complex than usual.
