Anthony Hamel had just turned 21 and was in town with his family from Montreal to celebrate his birthday and Christmas. He was walking down Las Vegas Boulevard with his family when he saw the woman in the car come charging at them. He felt the ground then blacked out.

A female in her 20's driving a 1996 Oldsmobile drove onto the sidewalk in 2 different areas between Paris Las Vegas and Bally's hotel-casino, killing 1 person and injuring 36 people. Anthony and his family were among the injured.

Anthony was transported to UMC Trauma, where he was treated for a knee injury and released. His main concern was for his mother and other relatives with more substantial injuries.

"She won't be able to feel the pain that she gave to a lot of people," Anthony replied when he heard the news that the driver was arrested.
