The battle over pine trees continued on Friday morning in a neighborhood on the west side of the valley.

Some of the residents of the neighborhood want to save the trees. However, the homeowners association says that the trees are causing too many problems.

Despite the threat of legal action, the HOA hired a tree crew who started the process of removing the trees on Friday.

Members of the HOA have declined to be interviewed on camera, but they did tell Action News that the trees are causing very real issues.

The trees are causing cracks in the sidewalk and problems with the plumbing in the neighborhood.

But not everyone agrees with their solution of totally removing the trees.

The HOA also told Action News that although the trees in the common areas are coming down, residents can keep any trees on their properties. Multiple homeowners say that this is the first time they have heard that.

One homeowner told Action News that even if he is allowed to keep the tree in his yard, he still wants to take legal action.
