The battle for one of our state Senate seats is taking a vicious turn.

Both candidates are using aggressive ads to attack each other.

Erv Nelson and Victoria Seaman both running to represent District 6 and the outcome of this race could determine which party controls our state Senate.

One of the ads talks about medical problems experienced by Seaman's daughter at birth.

Seaman says the ad bringing up her 23-year-old bankruptcy caused by medical issues is going too far.

But, her campaign fired back with a mailer claiming that Nelson "Tore apart families and kept grandparents from seeing their grandchilcden" during his time as a Mormon church leader.

Nelson sent us a statement saying "Seaman has spread lies about me, my church and my record for months. She has mischaracterized my positions and attacked me personally. After all of these attacks, our campaign needed to respond."
