LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — For the first time, Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show will broadcast five original shows from Las Vegas, a city which he called home from years.

"He sees all of his old friends that he was friends with when he was a kid, he still has the same friends, I know who they are they know who I am," says Kimmel's aunt "Chippy," a Las Vegas valley local.

She was a big part of his time in Las Vegas.

"He hung out a lot with Cleto Jr."

Cleto was Kimmel's best friend growing up in Las Vegas and is now the band leader on his show.

Cleto is also a graduate of UNLV.

Aunt Chippy remembers them as two pranksters-in-a-pod.

"The two of them were like frick and frack and were always doing something," says Chippy. "Jimmy would start the trouble but junior would go along with it."

Nowadays, Jimmy doesn't get the chance to just hang out in Las Vegas as much as he used to.

Aunt Chippy says the last time he was here, they went to Caesars Palace, but it wasn't long before someone realized who he was.

"They mean well, they like him they want to say hello and shake his hand but he wants to eat, he loves to eat."

Jimmy Kimmel live will be taping April 1 through April 5 inside Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, with a long list of celebrity guests appearing and musicians performing.

Aunt Chippy says Jimmy made sure she had a seat.

"I said how many days do I have to go to the show, he's like everyday. He wants me there so he can torture me closer."
