Admission price increasing at Red Rock Canyon

Folks pulling into Red Rock Canyon Monday got in for free, but also found out admission prices were going to double in just a few weeks.

“It’s important, the preservation of these places instead of trying to cut down on these places and forcing them to raise their prices,” says John Shane, visitor.

Red Rock says the price increase is due in part to the demand, as more visitors are checking out the area. More visitors also means more upkeep, so the money will be spent on preserving the canyon for the future.

“It’s really refreshing to come out to nature when you’re in a place like Las Vegas,” says John Shane, visitor.

But many visitors tell 13 Action News, the rise in prices won’t stop them from coming to hike, walk or drive the area.
“It’s such good quality air from places like this,” says Vivian Shakellariou.

The new admission prices will start on February 20th, 2018.
